What’s Involved in Shipping Your Car or Motorbike?
Regulations on importing and exporting vehicles vary from country to country, so the process may differ depending on where you’re headed. However, there are some general procedures that apply to all shipments. We have the experience and expertise to deal with even the most difficult shipments.
Crating and Packaging
All cars and motorcycles need to be crated for shipment, unless you’re shipping as part of a group in a container. We can provide crating services, as well as battery disconnection, fuel draining, and petrol draining in line with shipping requirements. It’s important to note that there are special requirements on the type of wood that can be used for building crates. If you’re planning to crate your own vehicle, either use a steel crate or build it from what is known as ISPM15 timber. If in doubt, leave it to us – non-compliant timber can’t be shipped.
Special Requirements for Some Countries
In some countries, such as New Zealand, we can apply for GST exemption. If you’re emigrating to the country and already own the bike, we can apply for an exemption for you, subject to certain criteria.
We understand the excitement and anticipation of exporting your dream car or motorcycle. We also know how overwhelming the logistics of international shipping can be. That’s why we’re here to make it as easy and stress-free as possible for you. Trust us to handle the hard work, while you focus on your next adventure.
